FBI and New Rochelle Police offering $10,000 reward to locate suspect in 2022 homicide

New Rochelle police and the FBI are now offering a $10,000 reward in the search of a suspect who was believed to be involved in a 2022 homicide.

The FBI's New York Field Office is helping New Rochelle police locate Mtayari Dixon, 30, of New Rochelle, who is wanted as a suspect in the Oct. 26, 2022 killing of James Caldwell, Jr.

Caldwell, 29, was fatally shot on the corner of Horton Avenue and Colonel Lee Archer Boulevard. He was a rapper who performed as Boogie Nation. Police believe Dixon shot Caldwell after a verbal altercation.

The FBI said Dixon was reported to live in Stamford, Conn. immediately after the shooting, but has been seen in Atlanta, Ga. and Charlotte, N.C.

Police have not released any information about the connection between Dixon and Caldwell.

Dixon was charged with murder on Nov. 14, 2022 in New Rochelle City Court and a state search warrant was issued for his arrest.

New Rochelle police and the FBI ask that anyone with information call the New Rochelle Police Department at 914-654-2300.
