  1. An FDNY firefighter, Timothy Klein, 31, died on Sunday while putting out a blaze in Canarsie, Brooklyn, where eight other fighters were also injured. According to reports, the building's ceiling collapsed on Klein while he was stuck inside. (New York City Patch)

  2. A New York State judge is holding former President Donald Trump in civil contempt of the court for failing to respond to a subpoena request, fining him $10,000 per day until he turns over requested documents. New York Attorney General Letitia James is in the process of investigating The Trump Organization's business dealings. (New York City Patch)

  3. New York City's COVID positivity rate is nearing 6 percent, a number not reached since February. While cases are on the rise–reaching daily totals of over 3,000 several times last week–some health experts believe there's signs they are actually leveling off. (New York City Patch)

  4. Mayor Adams is poised to unveil his final executive budget proposal today. Several months ago, he announced his desire to cut spending across city agencies by 3 percent, while many city council members banded together to request multi-million dollar increases to key city services. (New York City Patch)

  5. One45, a major development project in Harlem, was approved Monday by the City Planning Commission in a two to eight vote, sending the contentious rezoning to the city council. If passed, the development would create over 900 hundred housing units, only about 220 of which would be considered affordable. Opponents, including Councilwoman Kristen Richardson Jordan, worry that, if built, it could spur gentrification. (New York City Patch)
