FDOT planning changes to US 17-92 in DeLand: How to provide input on proposed projects
The Florida Department of Transportation is inviting the public to attend its meeting on proposed "improvements that will transform Woodland Boulevard in DeLand."
The changes to Woodland Boulevard (U.S. 17-92) have been divided into three projects:
Taylor Road (State Road 15A) to Beresford Avenue
Beresford Avenue to Plymouth Avenue
Plymouth Avenue to International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92)
The meeting will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and attendees may participate in person, virtually, or by phone (listen only).

How to attend in person on Wednesday, July 12
Where: Wayne G. Sanborn Activity Center, 815 S. Alabama Ave., in DeLand
When: Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
What: A looping presentation on the proposed plans will be playing. There also will be project displays and FDOT staff on hand to discuss the project. Attendees may submit comments and questions.

Participants must register in advance at fdot.cc/Woodland_Blvd_Improvements.
Those who plan to participate via computer, tablet or smartphone should use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as their internet browser.

What FDOT is proposing for DeLand projects
The Taylor Road (State Road 15A) to Beresford Avenue project is proposed to include: bicycle lanes on both sides of the roadway, filling sidewalk gaps, new midblock crossings with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons, pedestrian-activated displays, closing some existing motorist medians and changing others.

Length: 3.7 miles
Estimated construction cost: $4.5 million

The Beresford Avenue to Plymouth Avenue project is proposed to include: upgrading existing pedestrian crossings and adding six new crossings equipped with Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons, also a pedestrian-activated display.

Length 2 miles
Estimated construction cost: $800,000

The Plymouth Avenue to International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92) project is proposed to include: constructing three new midblock crossings with Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons, new medians and changes to existing medians.
