FDOT to reinstate tolls on several roads this weekend. Which roads will you have to pay to drive on?

Tolls on certain Florida roads will be reinstated on Saturday, 18 days after the state was hit by Hurricane Ian, causing massive devastation.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation, several key roads throughout Central and Southwest Florida will have tolls reinstated.

Among toll bridges in Lee County, the Sanibel Causeway remains closed to residential traffic due to damage.

Which roads will have tolls reinstated by FDOT?

Effective at 6 a.m. Saturday, the following roads' tolls will be reinstated:

  • Suncoast Parkway

  • Beachline Expressway

  • Florida’s Turnpike Mainline, north of Milepost 249

  • Seminole Expressway

  • Southern Connector Extension

  • Wekiva Parkway

  • Western Beltway

  • Polk Parkway

  • I-4 Express

  • Apopka Expressway

  • Beachline Expressway

  • Central Florida Greeneway

  • Goldenrod Extension

  • East-West Expressway

  • Osceola Parkway

  • Poinciana Parkway

  • SR453

  • Western Beltway

Which roads will still have tolls suspended?

The following roads will continue to have tolls suspended, according to FDOT. These roads are considered crucial to getting needed hurricane support to hard-hit areas:

  • Alligator Alley

  • Sunshine Skyway

  • Pinellas Bayway

When and where did Hurricane Ian make landfall?

Hurricane Ian made landfall on Sept. 28 at 3:05 p.m. at Cayo Costa, an island off the coast of Fort Myers.

The storm was a powerful Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 150 mph.
