FDOT widening project to affect traffic on Interstate 10 exit to Roosevelt Boulevard this weekend

As part of Florida Department of Transportation’s Interstate 10 from Interstate 295 to Interstate 95 widening project, the I-10 west exit to Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. 17) will be detoured Sat., Apr. 1 from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. During this time crews will be performing bridge construction activities, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

FDOT is notifying drivers that wish to take the Roosevelt Boulevard exit will be detoured to the McDuff Avenue exit and left on McDuff to reconnect with U.S. 17.

To better deal with the increased flow of traffic along McDuff Avenue resulting from the Roosevelt Boulevard detour:

  • Northbound McDuff Avenue will be closed at the U.S. 17 intersection.

  • Southbound McDuff Avenue will be closed at Lenox Avenue.

  • The eastbound I-10 exit to McDuff Avenue will be closed.

  • Both directions of Old Roosevelt Boulevard will be closed at McDuff Avenue.

  • Both direction of Post Street will be closed at McDuff Avenue.

McDuff Avenue and Post Street will also see closures.

FDOT hired Superior Construction to complete this $174.5 million project in early 2025.
