FDU just shocked No. 1 seed Purdue, and Twitter is a bit shook
For just the second time in the history of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, a No. 16 seed has upset a No. 1 seed in the first round and some Jersey boys were the ones to get it done.
Fairleigh Dickinson University, from the little Northeast Conference, toppled the Big Ten's Purdue, 63-58, on Friday night.
The Knights, who play their home games in Hackensack, became the latest Cinderella story during March Madness.
Twitter was a buzz with excitement following the game with reactions:

Just a friendly reminder that you can celebrate FDU without putting down Purdue. Make it about the win, not the loss. These are college kids playing a game.

Let's go FDU! I don't watch basketball, but I do enjoy when small schools from NJ smash up the brakets. First St. Peter's, now my father in law's alma mater FDU.

Imagine how good #Purdue would be if they just didn't play schools from NJ.#MarchMadness

FDU and @PrincetonMBB have busted brackets and Jersey’s stock is rising!
I remember when FDU won their first NCAA Tournament game in 2019. https://t.co/ZKUYJB4oIR— Rep Josh Gottheimer (@RepJoshG) March 18, 2023
