Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 8 spoilers follow.

Fear the Walking Dead is pulling out all the stops for its final season, including bringing a few characters back to life.

Just like the show did with Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman) in episode seven ('Anton'), episode eight, titled 'Iron Tiger', marked the return of Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), who had been previously left for dead.

Exposed to deadly radiations in season seven, her poisoning was understood to be terminal. However, she came back in great shape on the latest episode only to inform Madison (Kim Dickens), also previously thought deceased, she was the one who killed her son Nick (Frank Dillane) right before sacrificing herself for the greater good.

"In looking at where Charlie was at the end of season 7 and the resources PADRE had, we ultimately decided it would be plausible that they could have given the medical treatment that she needed that June wasn't able to at the tower to save her," co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss told Entertainment Weekly.

"From Charlie's point of view, it felt like her story deserved a more satisfying ending, and it felt like her entrance to the show was kind of her original sin," he continued.

"She lied to Madison about why she was at the stadium, and she is very much responsible for the stadium's downfall. She killed Nick, and it felt like in her own quest for redemption to put that behind her, we wanted to give her this kind of final, tragic, heroic moment to really help Madison and Strand and Daniel secure what they're trying to build."

While Fear the Walking Dead, much like OG show The Walking Dead and other spinoffs, had fans used to twists and turns throughout the years, it seems that Charlie did die for good this time around.

"She is gone," co-showrunner Ian Goldberg confirmed.

"She had a heroic death that will have ripple effects for Madison and all the characters. But yes, this is the end of Charlie's story."

Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and AMC on BT TV in the UK.
