Fear the Walking Dead's Demetrius Grosse has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the new TV series Wonder Man.

The upcoming Disney+ TV series is a comedy about Simon Williams, an engineer-turned-Hollywood-star who becomes an unlikely superhero when his movie career flames out. Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play Simon.

Meanwhile, TVLine reports that Grosse will be joining the show as Simon's brother Eric Williams — the so-called "black sheep" of the family who ultimately turns to a life of crime. Disney has not commented on the casting.

In Marvel Comics lore, Eric eventually wields a scythe and harnesses a superpower allowing him to induce comas, leading him to take the name 'Grim Reaper'.

Grim Reaper has been associated with two of Marvel's most notorious villain groups as a former member of HYDRA and the Sinister Six.

Wonder Man is yet another small-screen project for Grosse, who has played the dual role of twins Josiah and Emile LaRoux in Fear the Walking Dead and has appeared on The Rookie, The Brave, Game of Silence, Banshee and more.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is developing the Wonder Man show for Disney+. He's also heading up Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

As such, Cretton is bringing back Shang-Chi star Sir Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, the small-time actor who posed as The Mandarin as part of a plot against Iron Man.

Slattery has since shown he's got a softer side, as he joined up with Shang-Chi and his loved ones to defend Ta Lo against the forces of the real Mandarin.

While Cretton is producing and directing the Wonder Man show, writing duties have been handed off to Hawkeye veteran Andrew Guest.
