‘Feathered Indian’ country rocker Tyler Childers coming to Eastern WA

Tyler Childers and The Food Stamps are coming to Washington state.

The twice Grammy-nominated country music star from Kentucky will play the Gorge Amphitheatre on Aug. 23, 2024, as part of his global Mule Pull ‘24 Tour, according to an announcement Wednesday detailing the new North America dates. Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats will open.

Tickets are expected to be in high demand.

Registration for the presale is open now through 8:59 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, and the presale will start Wednesday, Oct. 11. A limited amount of admission tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13.

Childers is among the most prominent modern voices and storytellers in country music, showcasing a unique blend of outlaw country, Gospel-soul, bluegrass music and folk rock.

“I’m a dial-up man in a 5G world,” he recently told The New York Times.

The upcoming performances celebrate Childers’ new album, “Rustin’ In The Rain,” which recently debuted at No. 10 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

Childers is the voice behind many notable songs including “Feathered Indian,” “All Your’n” and “Long Violent History.”

The music video for “In Your Love,” the first single off his latest record, tells the love story of two male coal miners who build a life in rural 1950s Appalachia.

Childers’ surprise 2020 Grammy-nominated album “Long Violent History” was called an “explicit and remarkable stand in solidarity” by NPR.

And his previous two records, 2019’s No. 1 Country Squire and 2017’s RIAA Platinum debut “Pergatory,” were released to overwhelming critical and commercial acclaim.
