Feel that earthquake Monday night?

If you felt something briefly shake Monday night, you weren't imagining things − and you weren't alone.

It was an earthquake, albeit a minor one, a few kilometers below the earth's surface in Western Kentucky.

The United States Geological Service reported a 3.0 magnitude quake at 9:45 p.m. Central Time, just west of Calhoun, Kentucky. There were no immediate reports of damage from Calhoun, a city of about 725 people in McLean County.

The USGS reported receiving 34 responses on its interactive "Did You Feel It?" map as of 7 a.m. Tuesday, all of them marked as either "weak" or "light" in their description of the quake's intensity.
