Felon suspected of being armed when entering sleeping woman’s home to steal valuables, car

A convicted felon was arrested on suspicion of being armed when he broke into a sleeping woman’s home in Oak Hills, according to sheriff's deputies.

On May 26, deputies responded to a residential robbery in the 10600 block of Fargo Street in Oak Hills, west of Interstate 15. According to the victim, the suspect entered her home while she slept and was armed with a handgun.

He then stole valuables, including electronics, her purse, and her 2018 Infiniti QX60, sheriff’s officials said.

Evidence was collected at the scene and deputies identified a possible suspect as 36-year-old convicted felon Shane David Andrade of Hesperia, authorities said.

A search warrant was served at a home in the 16500 block of Fir Street in Hesperia.

Nearly a month passed before Andrade was arrested.

On July 18, a warrant was served at a home, where deputies say they found stolen property they believed belonged to the victim. Also, marijuana, ammunition, fake law enforcement attire, and extraction equipment consistent with manufacturing butane honey (hash) oil, sheriff’s officials said.

Andrade was arrested on suspicion of residential robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and manufacturing of a controlled substance, the sheriff’s department reported. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, with bail set at $700,000, sheriff’s booking records show.
