The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the deadline until the middle of January for anyone affected by Hurricane Ian to apply for federal disaster assistance.

With the holidays getting hectic, there will now be FEMA Disaster Recovery Center for those in Flagler County, located at the Fairgrounds.

This extension was requested by Governor Ron DeSantis on behalf of the State of Florida according to Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord.

The Disaster Center will run for three extra weeks until Jan. 12 2023, from  8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

FEMA extended the application deadline to Jan. 12, for people who experienced damage also in Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and Volusia counties.
