What is the female equivalent to the now-viral question ‘How often do men think about the Roman Empire’?

Now that TikTok has shown just how much men think about the Roman Empire, people are obsessing over another question: What do women secretly think about every day that would shock men?

One woman’s quest to find the answer is currently going viral, and so are many of the responses.

“I am absolutely fascinated by the Roman Empire trend that’s happening on TikTok,” admitted Emmy (@sophisticatedspreads) in a TikTok last week. “But what I want to know is, what is the female version of the Roman Empire? Like, what is something random that we all think about on a very regular basis that is female-specific?”

A flood of stitches soon followed, with many women claiming that being the victim of a crime tops their personal list of near-constant thoughts.

“Definitely being kidnapped,” said Danyelle Leyden (@therealmom9110). “Or just in general, somebody’s gonna get me.”

“Yeah, I think it’s being murdered. Or assaulted,” said Melissa Urban (@melissa_u), who added in her caption that she also regularly worries about whether she left the curling iron on.

Actress Greer Grammer (@greer_grammer) even joined in and offered another possible option: Taylor Swift.

That said, the actress also said that “getting kidnapped” was also pretty high up there.

“I think about those two things every day,” Grammer said.

Other popular responses included the life and death of Princess Diana, the Salem Witch Trials and the sinking of the Titanic.

The Roman Empire trend first began last month, shortly after Gaius Flavius (@gaiusflavius) posted an Instagram Reel.

“Ladies, many of you do not realize how often men think about the Roman Empire,” Flavius wrote in the video text. “Ask your husband/boyfriend/father/brother – you will be surprised by their answers!”

Soon after, the Rev. Kelsey Lewis Vincent (@KelseyMLoo), an associate pastor at First Baptist Church in Wilson, N.C., asked her husband the question and posted about his response.

“Without missing a beat he said ‘Every day,'” Vincent later shared in a tweet. “YALL! Why!?”

Vincent’s tweet quickly went viral, prompting a wave of responses as women everywhere started to film themselves asking their own husbands the same question. To the surprise of many, most men responded with answers like “every day” or “almost every day” — though the reason why remains unclear.
