Female victim fatally wounded in shooting in East Hyde Park neighborhood, another woman shot in face, police say

A female was fatally shot in the chest, and another woman was shot in the face Saturday afternoon in the East Hyde Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 2:40 p.m., the two victims, whose ages we not immediately available, were shot in the 4900 block of South East End Avenue.

Both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where the victim shot in the chest was pronounced dead, police said.

The condition of the female shot in the face was not immediately known, police said.
