A festive drive-through celebration for Dodgers' fans
A drive-through holiday light show in Los Angeles is attracting all types of people… especially hardcore Dodgers fans.
That’s because the spectacle - held in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium - replaces a victory parade that should have marked the Dodgers’ first World Series win since 1988.
But not everything that should happen is happening these days.
So now - weeks after the Dodgers’ World Series win - socially-distant fans are coming out to celebrate:
"I've been a season ticket holder for thirty plus years and I'm so excited to be here, thank you."
"Real excited - this is kind of good cuz you really can't do anything else. So this is a good alternative to get out of the house and, you know, take part of the Christmas spirit.”
There's not much to do while under the city's current ‘stay-at-home’ order.
But this is one of them: A 30-minute drive past LED video displays of Dodgers players… giant bobbleheads including the legendary former team manager Tommy Lasorda… music... a cowgirl surrounded by unicorns… and a custom-made championship trophy.
"Of course, you got to be in the holiday spirit, especially with 2020. There's nothing else you can be, is be happy.”
For Dodgers' fans - who are required to stay in their cars and wear face masks if the windows are rolled down - this 'party' is better late than never.
