Get a festive first look at the Minions Holiday Special

Illumination and Universal Pictures

Settle in for a very Minion Christmas, because the animated (in more ways than one) yellow creatures are coming to your screens just in time for the holiday season.

EW is exclusively debuting the first look image from the first-ever Illumination Presents Minions Holiday Special, featuring three of the most recognizable minions: Bob, Kevin, and Stuart, as Santa's Little Helpers.

The half-hour primetime event, from NBC and Illumination, presents four mini-movie escapades and includes special guest appearances from beloved characters from The Secret Life of Pets and Sing.

As part of NBC's holiday programming, the special will run on NBC on Friday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 p.m. PT/ET and air the following day on NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock.

The special won't be the last fans will see of the minions, who first popped up in the 2010 film Despicable Me. The banana bunch are getting a sequel to their wildly successful 2015 standalone film with Minions: The Rise of Gru, which is slated for a July 2, 2021 debut.

There are plenty of other family-friendly Yuletide fare to celebrate the season this year, like Netflix's Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey featuring Forest Whitaker and Phylicia Rashad, which premiered today, as well as The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn on Nov. 25, and Captain Underpants Mega Blissmas on Dec. 4. Disney+'s Lego Star Wars Holiday Special also begins streaming Nov. 17.
