FFCU donates money to local schools

Sep. 22—BELLEVUE — For many students, school is back in session, and thanks to combined local efforts, students were sent to school prepared for the 2022-2023 school year.

This year, Firelands Federal Credit Union (Firelands FCU) has successfully contributed a total donation amount of $3,000 to area schools and organizations hosting back-to-school supply collection campaigns. As a result of these combined local efforts, backpacks, notebooks, binders, and a variety of other school essentials have been successfully distributed to students in our area.

Monetary donations of $500 have been made to each of the following organizations by their respective Firelands FCU branch:

Bellevue — Bellevue Ministerial Association

Bucyrus — Bucyrus United Methodist Church, Back to School Supply Carnival

Galion — Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission

Monroeville — Monroeville Local Schools

Norwalk — First Presbyterian Church

Sandusky — EmpowerHER Networking Group, Back to School Boat Cruise

"With the average family spending over $600 on school supplies, getting ready to go back to school can be a very stressful time for teachers, students, and families," said Brett Montague, Firelands FCU's President/CEO. "Our goal with these yearly donations is to help ease that stress and financial burden. We are grateful for these dedicated groups that make it all possible and are proud to offer them our full support."
