Graham McGrath, who died in Lake Como, had "a kind soul," frat brothers post on social media

The Florida Gulf Coast University student who died in Lake Como Wednesday had "a kind soul," his fraternity brothers said in a social media post announcing his death.

Graham McGrath's body was recovered by divers Thursday after an hours-long search of the lake, which is between FGCU and the neighboring Miromar Lakes community. Authorities had been searching since they received a report of a missing boater Wednesday evening.

The 19-year-old was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

On its "fgcupikes" Instagram feed, the fraternity posted Thursday that McGrath was loved by his friends and family.

"Graham had a kind soul as his smile was able to be seen by all," the post said. "His ambitious character and his gravitating personality was able to show what it means to be a true PIKE."

The post went on to request thoughts, prayers and privacy "as we lay him to rest."
