FHP: Deltona woman dies following Seminole County crash
A Deltona woman died Friday following a car crash in Seminole County that may have been preceded by a medical episode, troopers said.
The 60-year-old was southbound on State Road 417 near the Interstate 4 interchange shortly after 8 a.m. when her Honda Pilot traveled into the median, struck the barrier wall and then entered the northbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The SUV then collided with an Orlando man's pickup.
Volunteer troopers:Real risk, no pay
The woman was taken to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital where she died, troopers said. The 49-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Colorado suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, according to the FHP.
