FHSAA Tuesday boys basketball playoffs tip ahead of state soccer, girls basketball
Regional top seeds Colonial, Jones, Olympia, Orlando Christian Prep, Wekiva and Windermere Prep lead the list of 17 Orlando area boys basketball teams playing Florida High School Athletic Association region semifinal games on Tuesday night.
Those games tip off a big high school sports week that includes the girls basketball state tournament in Lakeland and boys and girls soccer state championship games in DeLand.
The soccer finalists are Bishop Moore (girls and boys), East Ridge, Montverde Academy and Trinity Prep.
The girls basketball final four teams are newcomer Kissimmee Gateway and four that reached Lakeland last year: Colonial, Dr. Phillips, Faith Christian and Lake Highland Prep.
Tuesday’s boys basketball winners advance to region finals on Friday night that will again be hosted by higher seeds. That state tournament is March 1-4, also at the RP Funding Center.
