Field hockey Sept. 12-17 recaps: Edgemont, Scarsdale, Magnus, Carmel, Yorktown win

Tuesday game recaps

Edgemont 1, Nanuet 0

Taylor Kenney picked up the shutout, stopping 11 shots, and Breanna Chin scored the game's only goal.

Nanuet's Meghan Meehan had three saves.

John Jay-Cross River 2, Pelham 0

Annabel Brennan scored twice in the second half and Molly Gallagher recorded the shutout with six saves.

Jane Brennan and Kaycie Keeley both had an assist.

Sienna Guidippie stopped seven shots and Kaitlin Sheedy had six saves for the Pelicans.

Albertus Magnus 1, North Salem 0

Emma Ocallaghan scored off a Jenna Cunningham assist with fewer than three minutes to play and Tara Costello stopped 10 shots to record the shutout over the No. 7-ranked Tigers.

Carmel 3, Arlington 2

Laila Rosenquest scored twice and Taylor Lotz had a solo tally.

Addison Rosenquest had an assist.

Ella Tamweber had the Admirals' two goals (the second tying the score with just minutes to play) and Miranda Colacchio had an assist.

Arlington keeper Amanda Cimillo has 12 saves.

McKenzie Hayes stopped eight shots for Carmel.

Yorktown 1, Harrison 0

Katie Keaveney scored off an Ellie Glicksman assist and Maeve Ryan had eight saves to gain the shutout.

Adriana Marraccini had five saves for Harrison.

White Plains 2, Somers 1

Chloe Ryan and Stella Gould scored for the Tigers.

Alivia Alexander and Elizabeth Armogida both had an assist.

Emily Esposito scored for the Tuskers off a Lyla Mancini assist.

Somers keeper Kamryn Seeger had 13 saves .

Saumya Sawant stopped eight shots for White Plains.

Panas 5, Byram Hills 0

Olivia Weinbaum scored twice and Kate Astrab notched the shutout with four saves.

Ellie Healy, Makenzie Schmidt and Hayley Madden also scored.

Madi Duteau had two assists.

Kiki Gavril had eight saves and Ava Monaco had two saves for the Bobcats.

Putnam Valley 3, Valhalla 2

Morgan Kruger had a big game with 20 saves but the Tigers earned the win behind two goals from Ava Harman and one from Maggie Sampson.

Ava De Natale scored both Viking goals.

Tiger keeper Kylie Recuppio had six saves.

Scarsdale 4, Mahopac 0

In the Somers Tournament, Madeline Greco scored twice and Gabriela Lopez notched the shutout, stopping six shots.

Kenzie Mauro and Samantha Hoexter also scored.

Riley Iasiello and Mauro each had an assist.

Mahopac keeper Madison Orsini had 14 saves.

Monday game recaps

Mahopac 0, Somers 0 (Mahopac advances to final via shootout)

Monday's night's Mahopac-Somers opening-round game in the Somers Tournament couldn't have been much closer. But Mahopac will play for the tournament championship after three players netted goals in an overtime shootout.

While the game was officially a tie, Mahopac got the win for tournament purposes after Katrina Levitz,, Maya O’Keefe and Grace Witt scored in the shootout.

Tusker keeper Kamryn Seeger and Mahopac goalie Madison Orsini both had seven saves.

Scarsdale 4, White Plains 2

Samantha Hoexter and Maddie Greco both scored twice as Scarsdale topped White Plains to advance to the final of the Somers Tournament.

Kenzie Mauro had two assists and Parker Mauro had one assist.

Mackenzie Kelly and Stella Gould netted the Tiger goals.

Sophia Emmert had an assist.

Tiger keeper Saumya Sawant had five saves.

Scarsdale goalie Gabriella Lopez stopped four shots.

Horace Greeley 3, Clarkstown South 0

The Quakers, who opened the season ranked eighth among local teams, dominated fifth-ranked Clarkstown South, putting 25 shots on net and limiting the Vikings to two shots on net.

Nina Byrne scored twice, Alysa Rose had one goal and Mia Brown had an assist.

The Vikings used three goalies. Hannah Doherty had 14 saves, Shannon Roberts stopped six shots and Quinn Moreno stopped two shots.

Quaker keeper Meredith Dalrymple earned the shutout with two saves.

Sleepy Hollow 4, Hen Hud 2

Evelyn Nelson had a hat trick and Anika Zaidi scored the Headless Horsemen's other goal.

Paige Johansson and Rowan Dapson scored for Hen Hud.

Sleepy Hollow goalie Roxi Bloom had eight saves.

Emily Hunt turned aside six shots for the Sailors.

Pleasantville 2, Bronxville 2

The unranked Panthers tied No. 9 Bronxville behind Chloe Egan's nine saves and goals from Natalie O'Malley and Abbey Gordon.

Hailey Praslick and Aisling Mulcahy each had an assist.

Addie St. Phillip scored both Bronco goals off assists from Annie Greatrex, Isabela Fenner, and Frannie Krause.

Bronco goalie Sofia Costanzo stopped two shots.

Fox Lane 3, North Rockland 0

Samantha Reder scored twice, her second goal coming off a penalty corner after time had expired in the second quarter.

Sidney Sicignano opened the scoring earlier in that period.

Zoe Stonecipher assisted on Reder's fourth-quarter score.

With North Rockland starting keeper Ambrey Conklin sidelined after rupturing the fascia in a foot last week, freshman Mackenzie Clerici manned the net and stopped six shots.

Fox keeper Isabella Vasquez picked up the shutout, stopping two shots.

Pearl River 3, Brewster 1

Kayla Reilly scored twice and Sophia Brown had the Pirates' other score.

Megan McNamara, Shannon Keena and Brown each had an assist.

Morgan Brace scored for Brewster off a Sofia Sanchez assist.

Bear keeper Maura McIntyre had eight saves

Megan McDonald had five saves for Pearl River.

Lakeland 4, Panas 0

Panther goalie Kate Astrab stopped 24 shots but Lakeland notched the win with Emily Yazzetti scoring twice and Bella Basulto and Charlotte Sabert getting solo tallies, Basulto's coming on a penalty stroke.

Alyssa Petrilli, Gabby Santini and Basulto each had an assist.

Hornet keepers Celeste Pagliaroli and Maeve Dineen-Herzog didn't face any shots from their district rival.

Rye Country Day 5, Hamden Hall 0

Reina Thalheimer Santa Maria had a hat trick and Payton Caggiano and Cameron Song also scored.

Zizi Hart, Morgan Daily, Thalheimer Santa Maria and Caggiano each had an assist.

Bella Aldo had 19 saves for Hamden Hall.

Wildcat keeper Mak Blake didn't face any shots.

Nyack 5, Clarkstown North 0

Emily Fidalgo scored twice and Emily Rodriguez stopped eight shots to record the shutout.

Margaret Palmer, Kayla Crai and Adriana Gleeson also scored.

Mia Gilbart had two assists and Tess Dizzine had one assist.

Olivia Leahy had 11 saves for the Rams.

Hastings 2, Rye Neck 2

Rye Neck's Klara Finkenberg stopped eight shots and Vivian Smith had seven saves for Hastings.

Nuala Mullen and Hannah Kirshbaum scored for the Yellow Jackets.

Lyla Gatterdam and Aynsley Zamore both had an assist.

Noele Radulovic and Phoebe Marcuse netted the Rye Neck goals.

Julia Murphy had an assist.

Rye 10, Harrison 1

Sisters Lily and Beau Whaling both had hat tricks and Charlotte Langer scored twice.

Ava Chiaravalle and Scarlette Karmilowicz also scored.

Lily Whaling and Chiaravalle both had three assists, Caroline Doyle and Karmilowicz each had two assists and Beau Whaling had one assist for the Garnets, who had a 10-6 penalty corner advantage and outshot the Huskies 24-5.

Kayla Porto netted the Harrison goal.
