David Heflinger, superintendent of the Field Local School District, was honored with the Dick Maxwell Award at the Buckeye Association of School Administrators' fall conference.

Heflinger was selected for this award by the BASA Executive Committee and was recognized during the organization’s annual awards ceremony Oct. 3 in Columbus.

"The Field Local Schools would like to congratulate Mr. Heflinger on receiving this distinguished award and thank him for his leadership in the district and across the state," states a media release issued by the district.

The award was established in 2009 to honor Maxwell as an individual whose knowledge of school funding in Ohio contributes to public policy that supports public education. Maxwell was the executive director of BASA in 2000 and is widely recognized in Ohio as the most knowledgeable person regarding school funding formulas and their relationship to tax policy.
