FIFA's Infantino says Pele is 'forever with us'
STORY: In a video posted on Instagram, Infantino said the news brought sadness and created a void.
"But actually, we [will] never lose him. We never lost him. He's forever with us. He's forever with everyone who loves football because of what he did for football," said Infantino, adding that the world will remember him as "a great human being, a great person with a big, big, big heart and incredible charisma. Winning three World Cups. A beautiful and warm smile. Nice words for everyone. Always good to everyone and polite."
Brazil's government declared three days of mourning and the arch at soccer's cathedral, Wembley Stadium, was lit in the colours of Brazil, while icons of sport and heads of state bowed to the man who rose up from childhood poverty to become a legend.
