BBC Ukraine has shortlisted fifteen Ukrainian publications in three categories for the prestigious BBC Book of the Year Award 2023:

The winners will be announced at the BBC Book of the Year Award Ceremony 2023 on Dec. 14.

This year's jury includes Vira Ageieva, professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; Svitlana Pyrkalo, writer and cultural advisor to the EBRD; Vitaliy Chepinoha, blogger; Vitaliy Chernetsky, professor at the University of Kansas; and Marta Shokalo, editor-in-chief of BBC Ukraine.

The prize is awarded in partnership with the Cultural Program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

2022 winners include Andriy Semyankiv for “Dancing with Bones. Medical Thriller”; Andriy Bachynsky for “Phantoms of Chorna Dibrova”; and Pavlo Kazarin for "Wild West of Eastern Europe".
