Fight card set for professional boxing at Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino

A six-fight pro boxing card is set for Saturday night at Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino.

The main event features undefeated Amarillo prospect Abel Navarette (7-0) against El Paso's Armando Rodriguez (5-2) in a six-round fight at 140 pounds.

Other professional boxers scheduled to compete: Alejandro Moreno from Mexico against Abraham Perez of Albuquerque; John Herrera of Roswell versus John Medina of Lubbock; Manuel Eastman of Albuquerque versus Rico Urquizo of Roswell; Garrett Lopez of Dallas versus Rolyn Nez of Bloomfield, New Mexico; and Derek Perez of Belen versus Marquis Smith of Albuquerque.

The boxing event is at the Santa Fe Furniture Events Center on the grounds of the Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino. Doors open at 6 p.m.; tickets begin at $25 and are available at the door.
