When can I file taxes in Louisiana?

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — It’s nearly tax season.

The Louisiana Department of Revenue said it will begin accepting 2023 state individual income tax returns on Monday, Jan. 29.

Taxpayers can file electronically through Louisiana File Online for free. The web portal, according to LDR, allows taxpayers to file returns and pay taxes electronically, check the state of individual income tax refunds and amend current and prior-year tax returns.

Child tax credit: Bill could bring boost for parents in 2024

The refund time is within four weeks of submission for electronic tax returns and up to eight weeks for paper returns, LDR said.
