'Film festival with a social conscience': Here's the Teaneck film fest lineup

TEANECK — A wide range of movies will be offered for viewing during the Puffin Foundation's 18th annual Teaneck International Film Festival, which runs from Thursday through Sunday.

The self-described "film festival with a social conscience" opens with "Invisible Beauty," a documentary about the fashion industry's evolving treatment of Black beauty, at Teaneck Cinemas on Thursday. It concludes with a showing of "Bella!" about pioneer Congresswoman Bella Abzug on Sunday.

After the "Bella!" viewing, Women of Wisdom will present its Woman of the Year Award to the National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section for its century of service and activism. Guests will include former state Sen. Loretta Weinberg and representatives of the League of Women Voters of Teaneck, Teaneck Women Together, and the YWCA of Northern New Jersey.

The Centerpiece Gala showing of "The Old Oak" at Temple Emeth on Saturday will also include a buffet.
