Final deadline for Mother's Day photo submissions for annual special section approaches; Lackawanna Astronomical Society hosts free Astronomy Day

Apr. 27—The final deadline for Mother's Day photo submissions is next week.

All photos intended for The Times-Tribune's annual Mother's Day special section — either uploaded online or by dropping off hardcopy prints — must be submitted by the final deadline on Monday, May 1.

The Times-Tribune continues a more than 30-year tradition in 2023 with its annual Mother's Day special edition, which will publish Sunday, May 14.

Traditional-sized photos (black and white or color) cost $50. Bigger presentation photos (four times the size of a traditional photo), which are great for multigeneration portraits, large groups, family wedding photos and more, cost $100.

As in the past, readers can pay tribute to loved ones who have died by submitting photos for "In Loving Memory" placements.

Also, back by popular demand, pet owners are encouraged to sent photos to be showcased in a special section, "Mas and Paws."

Upload a digital version of your Mother's Day photo directly from your phone or computer by visiting timesmothersday.com.

If you wish to submit your prints like you have in the past, mail or drop off your 4x6-inch or larger photos (black and white or color) to Mother's Day, The Times-Tribune, 149 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18503. Include mother's name, phone number, local address and names of children as they appear from left to right. (If submitting a multigeneration photo, please list the name of the eldest mother and her town of residence first.) Please only send checks with mail submissions.
