Final shows at ACT; TikTok skating stars in Abilene for two nights

The final three performances of "The Boys Next Door" are scheduled this weekend at Abilene Community Theatre.

What: 'The Boys Next Door," directed by Keith May and Tyler Sparks

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Abilene Community Theatre main stage, 801 Barrow St.

Tickets: Online purchase - $18 for adults and $15 for students, seniors (55+) and military; walk-up prices are $20 and $17.

TikTok skating stars at The Skatin' Place

USA Shuffle Skate will perform from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Friday and 8:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday at The Skatin' Place, 1930 S. Clack St.

This is the group's first performance in Texas. Guests include TikTok stars The Griffin Brothers and skaters Fish and Michele Webster.

DJ Mayhem will be featured, too.

Cost is $20 each night. If you go both nights, there is $50-off coupon for Saturday.

That price is for skaters. If you come to watch, it's $15.

Pianist Puckett back in town for performance

Abilene High graduate and Abilene Philharmonic guest artist Halle Puckett will perform at 5 p.m. Sunday at Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander St.

The concert is free and open to the public. It's the first 2023 performance in this year's Chamber Music Concert Series. The next one is Feb. 19, also at 5 p.m., featuring Scott Dettra on harpsichord and Eric Smith on cello.

Hoops event at Dodge Jones

The Southwest Hoops 2023 MLK Classic will be taking place Saturday at Dodge Jones Youth Sports Complex, 1042 Loop 322 in east Abilene.
