The University of Kentucky football team defeated the Eastern Kentucky Colonels 28-17 at Kroger Field in Lexington on Saturday in a non-conference game.

The Wildcats are now 2-0 overall and 0-0 in the Southeastern Conference. Eastern Kentucky is 0-2 overall and 0-0 in the United Athletic Conference.

Kentucky returns to action Saturday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. (ESPNU) when it hosts the Akron Zips in Lexington.
