It's official! Netflix's hit series Outer Banks will be returning to screens this summer for a second series. While we get pumped for its release, let's go over everything we know about the upcoming second instalment of Outer Banks, including those preview images, the official release date and so much more.
Do we have a trailer for Outer Banks series 2?
A teaser trailer was released in early 2021 announcing the release date for Outer Banks season 2, while the first proper trailer dropped in July. In it, John B. and Sarah are on the run in the Bahamas, after he's falsely accused of murder. The Pogues are still on the hunt for the hidden treasure, and yeah, it looks pretty good.
When is Outer Banks series 2 being released?
Outer Banks series 2 is due to be released onto Netflix in summer 2021, and more specifically, on 30 July. Mark it in your diaries, kids!
What's going to happen in Outer Banks series 2?
At the end of season 1 the gang had just escaped near-certain death, and in series 2 we'll be heading to the Bahamas where John B and Sarah are still running for their lives.
The Netflix official synopsis reads:
"New friends also bring new foes as they’re back on the trail of the gold, while the stakes for Kiara, Pope, and JJ rapidly escalate at home. The $400 million is still in the game, but will the uncovering of a new-found secret reunite the group for a fresh mission? The adventure of a lifetime awaits, but uncharted waters ahead mean our Pogues must do all they can to make it out alive."
According to executive producers Shannon Burke, Jonas and Josh Pate, it's going to be a very full on season. "Season 2 is going to test our crew like never before," they told Digital Spy. "We've turned up the dial on everything fans loved about season 1 — more mystery, more romance and higher stakes.
"It's a full throttle, action-packed adventure and these photos offer a glimpse into the next chapter for our Pogues. All we can say for now is buckle up, it's going to be a wild ride."
Who has been cast in Outer Banks series 2?
All of the core cast will be returning for season 2, including Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey and Rudy Pankow. We can't wait for the end of July now.
