Michigan Credit Union League honors Monroe's Kate Hall

MONROE — Kate Hall, a member of the executive leadership team at Monroe Community Credit Union, was named the 2023 Young Professional of the Year by the Michigan Credit Union League.

“This is a statewide award. She’s the first from Monroe County (to earn it),” said April Eggert, MCCU's marketing specialist.

Michigan Credit Union League has five divisions throughout the state and exists to “support and protect the cooperative credit union movement in Michigan,” according to its website. It began in 1934.

“This prestigious award recognizes Kate's exceptional leadership qualities, unwavering commitment to community service and significant contributions to MCCU's success,” MCCU said in a written release. “Kate's dedication to community involvement is exemplary.”

"I am incredibly honored to receive the Michigan Credit Union League's Young Professional of the Year award," Hall said. "This recognition is a testament to the amazing opportunities and support I’ve received throughout my career, as well as the inspiring work of our team and our community partners. I am grateful for the chance to contribute to the credit union industry's mission of service and innovation, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in my community."

Hall is chairperson for the Monroe High School’s CTE Business Advisory committee, board treasurer for Habitat for Humanity of Monroe and president-nominee for the Rotary Club of Monroe. She also participates in other local initiatives, such as the Women’s Leadership Initiative and the Detroit Women in Business for Good.

"Her leadership qualities extend beyond her professional endeavors. Kate is known for her remarkable ability to foster collaboration and innovation within MCCU. As a valued member of the executive leadership team, she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the credit union's strategic goals are met. Kate's proactive approach to problem-solving and her commitment to employee development have significantly contributed to MCCU's success," MCCU said in the news release. "Kate's dedication to excellence, coupled with her passion for service, truly embodies the spirit of the Young Professional of the Year award. MCCU congratulates Kate Hall on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to her continued leadership and contributions in the years to come."

Hall also has advocated for legislative initiatives that benefit the credit union industry and began MCCU's Member Match program, MCCU said.
