Finding Alice executive producer Nicola Shindler has teased that there are still some "big secrets to be revealed" in the ITV drama, right up until the finale.

The series, which stars Keeley Hawes and debuted on Sunday (January 17), follows a grieving woman named Alice who, after the accidental death of her husband Harry, finds herself dealing with debt and the weight of his secrets.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Shindler teased what's to come for Alice, and admitted there's plenty of drama still in store.

"There is mystery to it. You’re constantly finding things about Harry and things that Harry hid. And Alice is learning all sorts of secrets that she doesn’t know whether she likes or not.

"It questions whether she knew Harry. Right up to the last episode, there are big secrets to be revealed."

Meanwhile, Hawes recently said she "can't be responsible" for viewers' reactions to the portrayal of Alice's grief in the drama.

The actress explained that Alice is a fictional character, unlike some of her more recent roles (such as in ITV's Honour) and therefore she doesn't feel the same responsibility.

"Alice is a unique creation and, while I really hope that some people will relate to her and find something within her reaction to her grief, and that may help them, I can't be responsible for people's grief because grief is unique to all of us," she explained.

"The way that we all experience grief, be it for a parent or a child or a pet, it's unique to all of us and all of our situations. I can’t be responsible for that, but I hope people relate."

The series also stars ex-Coronation Street actor Nigel Havers, Absolutely Fabulous's Joanna Lumley and Versailles's George Webster.

Finding Alice continues next Sunday (January 24) on ITV at 9pm.
