Finish off your Myrtle Beach spring break with some ink. Here’s where you can get a tattoo

Some might say it’s a bad idea to cap off your 2023 spring break with a tattoo.

But if you’re gonna go for it, then Myrtle Beach is the place to do it. The city has plenty of tattoo parlors that will ensure you never forget your visit.

In fact, they are mostly all in the same place — Seaboard Street.

Because of Myrtle Beach’s zoning regulations which don’t allow a tattoo store within 1,000 feet of a church or playground, all the tattoo parlors in Myrtle Beach are located along this strip.

Until 2004, South Carolina was one of the last two states to legalize tattooing in the country. It banned the practice in the ‘60s.

It was a Myrtle Beach artist who gave the first legal tattoo in South Carolina, according to the Associated Press.

Myrtle Beach artist, Charles Meeth, inked a daisy on a woman’s right foot in 2006.

Today, South Carolina prohibits tattooing anyone under the age of 21. If a person is at least 18, they may get a tattoo with parental consent.
