STORY: Finland fans erupted in cheers as they watched history unfold on an outdoor jumbo screen in Helsinki Friday (November 15) night as their side beat Liechtenstein 3-0 to book a place at Euro 2020 and reach the finals of a major soccer tournament for the first time.

The win secured second spot in Group J for Finland with 18 points, nine behind section winners Italy, who beat Bosnia and Herzegovina later on Friday.

With tickets to the match sold out weeks ago, several cities set up jumbo screens so fans could brave the cold and get a taste of history.

The atmosphere in Helsinki was enough to warm up most of these fans, many of whom waved their white and blue scarves in the air as they cheered.

Others went as far as shedding their shirts following the 3-0 win before fireworks were seen over the stadium.
