Fire crews make rescue during Beaverton apartment fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person in critical condition was rescued from a burning Beaverton apartment late Friday night, authorities said.

According to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, crews responded to an apartment fire on Southwest Teal Boulevard just before midnight and found heavy smoke rising from the roofline.

As authorities began to fight the fire, they said they did a search of the home and found a person inside who was in critical condition.

The victim was pulled out of the home and taken care of by the medical team while crews said they worked to contain the fire to just one unit.

The fire was upgraded to a second alarm, sending extra crews to the scene and eventually after midnight the fire was put out.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire and the victim’s condition is currently unknown.
