Fire crews respond to recycling plant fire in Edgefield County

JOHNSTON, S.C. (WJBF) – Crews are on the scene of a fire at Ridge Recyclers located on Highway 121, Johnston, South Carolina.

A fire broke out at the recycling facility late Tuesday night.

According to Ridge Spring Fire Department, shortly after midnight, they dispatched mutual units, including Tower 5 and Engine 5, in response to a mutual aid request in Edgefield County, near Trenton, in reference to a large industrial fire.

As of this article, fire crews are still there and flames are showing.

No word yet on how the fire started or if there are any injuries.
