The Russian occupation administration said that it had blocked the illegally constructed Tavrida highway (Kerch - Simferopol - Sevastopol) in Crimea as there is a serious fire, the Kremlin’s puppet governor Sergey Aksyonov announced on the morning of July 19.

The fire supposedly broke out at a training ground in the Kirovskyi (Islamteretskyi) district of the occupied peninsula. Aksyonov did not name the cause of the fire.

According to the Russian news outlet Baza, an ammunition depot of the Russian army near the town of Staryi Krym is burning and exploding.

"The road traffic scheme will be published soon," Baza stated, adding a map that showed a detour via the old Feodosia highway.

The Moscow-appointed occupation "head" of Crimea says that they want to "temporarily evacuate" residents of four settlements from the area adjacent to the training ground, which will affect more than 2,000 people.

Since the early hours of July 17, all traffic on the Crimean Bridge had been suspended, as Sergei Aksyonov, the Kremlin-appointed “Crimean governor,” declared an “extraordinary event.”

Russian publications reported explosions and significant damage to at least one section of the bridge. Later, the occupation authorities announced the resumption of rail transportation, but road traffic remained paralyzed.

On the morning of July 18, the so-called "Ministry of Transport" of Crimea said that cars were moving across the Crimean bridge or through other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The occupation authorities allegedly organized reverse traffic.

An NV source in law enforcement reported that Ukraine’s Security Service and the Ukrainian Navy were involved in the incident. According to the source, the bridge was struck using surface drones.

Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that one span of the road part of the Crimean Bridge cannot be restored.

On Oct. 8, a powerful explosion occurred at the Crimean Bridge, which Russia employs to deploy armored vehicles and military personnel to southern Ukraine, resulting in the collapse of several sections into the Kerch Strait.

The Kremlin regime has accused Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukrainian military intelligence, of organizing the sabotage. However, Budanov has refuted these claims, dismissing them as “baseless accusations.”
