Fire damages Boulder County Parks and Open Space structure

Aug. 4—A building on Boulder County Parks and Open Space property caught fire Thursday night, according to a Boulder County Sheriff's Office new release.

At 9:03 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a structure fire on the 7400 block of Nelson Road, the release said.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies saw a large metal structure that was fully engulfed. The structure housed UTVs, bicycles and other belongings, which are all suspected to be lost, and 75% of the structure was damaged, according to the release.

No injuries were reported, and there are no concerns to public safety, the release said.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation, according to the release. Assisting agencies included the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Hygiene Fire Protection District, Longmont Fire Department, Lyons Fire Protection District, Mountain View Fire Protection District and Boulder Rural Fire Rescue.
