Fire destroys camper in Bonifay

BONIFAY, Fla. (WDHN) — On Monday morning, Bonifay Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 2200 block of Cup Norris Lane.

According to the Bonifay Fire-Rescue Facebook, Assistant Chief Cook arrived on the scene and suggested that one camper was fully involved.

A second camper and a large mason block barn structure were also threatened.

Reports show that Cook requested Esto Fire and Chipley Fire to respond. Quick response stopped the spread of the fire to the second camper and the barn, saving both structures.

A search was conducted on the second camper with reported heat damage near the tongue of the trailer.

Once the fire was under control, the Esto Fire and Chipley Fire requests were canceled, according to Bonifay Fire.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an overloaded power source.
