Fire Destroys Listed Victorian Church in London

Around 80 firefighters and 12 fire engines tackled a church fire in St John’s Wood, London, overnight on January 26-27, the London Fire Brigade said.

Footage from the fire service shows the flames gutting the National Trust-listed St Mark’s Church.

Residents near the fire, on Hamilton Terrace, were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.

The whole building was destroyed, the fire service said, but there were no reports of any injuries. The fire was under control by the early hours of Friday, they said. Credit: London Fire Bridgade via Storyful
