Fire destroys the roof of Lincolnshire Wolds village pub

A village pub in northern Lincolnshire has been seriously damaged in a fire, with its roof completely destroyed.

Firefighters were called to the Cross Keys Inn on Brigg Road, Grasby, just after 14:00 BST on Monday.

The "substantial fire" in a flat above the pub was brought under control by six appliances, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said.

The gastropub's landlord Thomas Soulby said he was "happy that no one got hurt".

"That's really the main thing in an incident like this," he said.

"It's a shame, just as we move into our busiest season in summer."
