Fire intentionally set at Winfield mobile home

WINFIELD, Kan. (KSNW) — A fire was intentionally set at a mobile home in Winfield Thursday morning, according to the Winfield Fire/EMS Department.

At 5:30 a.m., the WFD, Winfield Police Department, and automatic aid partners responded to the report of a structure fire in the 500 block of N. Michigan St.

Upon arrival, crews found a single-wide mobile home “with an area showing heat indications on the porch and siding of the trailer.”

When crews entered the mobile home, the living room and kitchen were on fire.

“The fire was quickly brought under control, and the fire damage was limited to the living room, kitchen area, and front porch of the residence,” said the WFD. “The fire damage to those interior areas of the residence was significant.”

The WFD says an investigation into the cause of the fire revealed it was intentionally set.

A follow-up investigation is ongoing. KSN will provide more information as it becomes available.
