Fire reported at Marion's Piazza Saturday morning
Jan. 20—A Marion's Piazza in Dayton caught fire early Saturday morning.
Miami Valley Fire District and crews were dispatched on reports of a commercial fire alarm on 8991 Kingsridge Drive around 4:28 a.m. according to Battalion Chief Michael Renk for the Miami Valley Fire District.
Renk said upon arrival, the structure was charged with smoke and the fire was concentrated in the front area.
"We had a minor fire underneath our front counter. The sprinklers went off and put it out, but it left a lot of water damage," John Davis, Area Supervisor for Marion's Piazza, said.
He said the water damage impacted the front counter and will need to be replaced. Davis added two cash registers on the fronter counter will also need to be replaced.
Davis said the restaurant should only be closed for a week but they aren't entirely sure yet of the time frame.
"All of other eight stores are still open," he said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and the total estimated cost of repairs are under investigation.
Crews were on scene for several hours.
