Fire season begins with nearly one million acres torched

There are currently eight large fires burning throughout the Southwest region. In Northern Arizona, near Flagstaff, crews are racing to contain the monstrous Tunnel fire. The fire and smoke have destroyed 20,000 acres forcing hundreds of evacuations ripping through 30 structures. New Mexico has declared state of emergency in five counties. This is a devastating start to the fire season as nearly a million acres have been burned nationwide.
