The 214-acre property located between Houston Avenue and the levees of the San Joaquin River and French Camp Slough in south Stockton was the site of a municipal golf course for nearly 61 years before it was shut down in 2019. The back nine closed in January 2018 because of vandalism.

The property was given to the city by the Van Buskirk family provided it’s used only for recreation. Plans for what happens to it next are expected in the fall of 2023.
