Fire at South London Railway Arch Leaves Structure 'Completely Alight'

A railway arch in south London was “completely alight” as a fire burned on Wednesday, August 17, the London Fire Brigade said.

Footage shared by the London Fire Brigade shows firefighters and a large cloud of smoke on Great Guildford Street on Wednesday.

London Fire Brigade said the force was called to the fire at 9:29 am on Wednesday. Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters remained in attendance at around 10 am.

“Trains to and from London Bridge are affected and several buildings have been evacuated,” the Brigade added.
