Here are the top three stories in Roanoke today:

  1. Some new restaurants have joined in on this year's Roanoke Restaurant Week. This week-long event helps support local restaurants in the area that have been struggling due to the pandemic. Roanoke Restaurant Week runs now through Jan. 30, and parking on Saturdays will be free during the event. (WDBJ7)

  2. A house fire broke out on Friday morning in Roanoke’s Wasena neighborhood. Just before 6 a.m., crews were called to the home at the intersection of Main Street and Wasena Avenue SW for a reported house fire. Everybody inside the home made it out safely, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. (WSLS)

  3. LewisGale Blue Hills Emergency Room on Route 460 is a freestanding emergency room that is expected to be completed within months. The goal for the new room is to bring better access to emergency room care for people in Roanoke and Botetourt counties. To achieve this goal, the room will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and will offer a full range of emergency services, including CT scans. (WSLS)
