Fire Whirl Spins as Tennant Fire Rages in Northern California

The Tennant Fire whipped up a fire tornado as it continued to burn in the Klamath National Forest in California on June 29.

Footage taken by US Forest Service Klamath National Forest Supervisor Rachel Smith shows the fire whirl spinning as flames burn nearby.

“This is the type of extreme fire behavior that firefighters were facing during initial and extended attack of the Tennant Fire,” the US Forest Service for Klamath National Forest said.
