Firefighter dies in the Kharkiv region extinguishing a fire during shelling

Sergeant of the Civil Defence Service Ihor Verbytskyi has died in the town of Balaklia, Kharkiv Region, while extinguishing a fire.

Quote: "Senior firefighter and rescue worker of the 42nd State Fire and Rescue Unit of the 6th State Fire and Rescue Detachment of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast, and sergeant of the Civil Defence Service Ihor Yuriyovych Verbytskyi, has died heroically while on duty. Another young light of the nation has been extinguished – he was only 39 years old."

Details: In the evening in Balakliya the rescuers began to put out the fire. At that time the invaders had been shelling the building. Verbytskyi, who had been working for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine since 2003, received a life-threatening head injury.

Background: The occupiers do not stop shelling the Kharkiv region. The day before, the invaders fired on the Chuhuiv community, killing two residents. A Russian rocket hit the school yard in Kharkiv the same night. Another shell damaged the administrative building.
